Cape Coral BMX Track will observe Olympic Day along with more than 300 other BMX tracks nationwide.
The track, located at 1410 SW 6th Place, will be open on Saturday, June 23 for a day of free racing. The track opens for practice at 9 a.m. with racing at 11:30 a.m.
Olympic Day is a worldwide commemoration of the first International Olympic Committee (IOC) meeting in the Sorbonne in Paris by Baron Pierre de Coubertin. That meeting led to the founding of the modern Olympic Games.
National Olympic Committees (NOC) throughout the world will participate in the international celebration as each Olympic Committee sends Olympic Day greetings to participating nations.
