The Farmers Market at Cape Harbour will be back starting this Saturday, May 26, from 8 a.m. to noon. It will continue every Saturday until early October.
"This is our sixth annual Farmers Market at Cape Harbour," said Cape Harbour event manager Glenda Swager. It will be held between the two towers.
"People enjoy the fresh produce best," she said. "We gave three produce vendors, three local vendors. That includes Jim and Colleen's Produce, Turtle's Tomato Patch and an Asian vegetable vendor - Irene's Vegetables."
Swager said the Asian vegetables are something different.
"It amazes me, even their cabbage is different than our cabbage," she said.
Besides garden-fresh vegetables, there will fruits and homemade breads and desserts. There will also be honey, jelly, potted plants, handmade soaps and more for sale.
"There is also fresh seafood," she said, "and baked goods."
Seasonal fruits and vegetables, including peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, lettuce, peaches, mangos, papayas and pineapple, are among the offerings.
"And we'll have the author of the "Cat Book," she added. "He's an older gentleman, Harold Reit, who has written a cat book, and he promotes his book there. Tupperware and Vidalia onions are also going to be sold by the Shriners."
Vendors will include Bark Street, Carefree Boat Club, Classy Koozies, Costco, Fancy Nancy, Hawaiian Kettle Corn, Heritage Honey, Key West Sun Screen, Jim & Coleen's Produce, Miracle Knife, Nature Source, Pampered Chef (once a month), Paradise Handmade Soaps, PowerFX, Ralph's Seafood, Rogers Plants, Salsa & Guacamole, Sea Shell Cupcakery, Signature Laser Imaging & Gifts, Street Striders and Turtle's Tomato Patch.
"In addition to the Farmers Market, the merchants at Cape Harbour will open their doors to offer shoppers a host of treasures and treats," she said. "Guests are invited to browse the shops and enjoy breakfast, lunch, a cool gelato or cocktail while relaxing near the water.
She continued, "And we have the most wonderful Hawaiiian Kettle Corn. It's a different type of sweet, more tropical. And I'm hooked."
