Norma Mae Hough passed away Monday, May 1, 2012. She was the beloved wife of James Robert Hough, now deceased, and the mother of Robert (Cindy) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Richard (Cheryl) Hough of Fort Myers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Clyde Ritchey and Ester Stombaugh Ritchey; sisters, Marlene Bolton, Merril, Lilliam Lauffer; and brother, Irvin Ritchey.
Her surviving siblings are the Rev. Clyde Ritchey, Violet Knotts, Elda Billings and Mona Grimes. She was the proud grandmother of Christina (Bryan) Atwood of Seattle, Wash., Amanda (Anthony) Diehl of Vancouver, Canada, Farrah (Jason) Dickens of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Jordyn Hough of Fort Myers. Her great-grandchildren are Bennett Atwood, Asher and Lincoln Diehl, Taylor and Kendall Dickens.
She graduated from the Portage Area Township High School in Pennsylvania. She met the love of her life, James (Bob), and they were married in 1948. She raised her two sons in Gaithersburg, Md., and moved to Cape Coral in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Cape Coral.
She devoted much of her time to being a wife, mother and homemaker, as well as volunteering at the church, the hospital and doing nursing home visitation. Along the way she touched many lives with her time and generosity. She truly loved Jesus Christ, her family and her country. Friends are invited to the memorial service Monday, May 7, at 10:30 a.m., at the Coral Ridge Funeral Home, 1630 S.W. Pine Island Road, Cape Coral. Suggested memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made to Hope Hospice of Cape Coral or World Vision.
