The Palm Beach Cardinals edged the Fort Myers Miracle 3-2 Friday night at Hammond Stadium to take the rubber game of a three-game series.

Miracle starter Pat Dean loaded the bases in the third and walked Michael Swinson to force in a run. A sac-fly by Luis De La Cruz put the Cardinals up 2-0 in the fourth, and Chris Edmondson launched the first pitch of the fifth over the wall in right for a solo home run that proved to be the difference.

The Miracle only had one hit through six innings, but had three consecutive hits in the seventh to get back in the game. Daniel Santana drove in both runs with a line drive triple off the wall.

The Miracle (9-12) host St. Lucie (17-4) in the first game of a three-game series at 6:05 p.m. Saturday.
