Costa "Charlie" G. Vouros, 90, of Cape Coral died Saturday April 14, 2012, at Lee Memorial Health System's Cape Coral Hospital. He was born in Watertown, Mass., in 1922 to George and Helen Vouros. He served his country honorably during World War II with the U.S. Navy as a chief electrician.
He lived in Watertown, Mass., for many years where he co-owned and operated Watertown Sound and Electric with his brother James. He retired in 1982 and moved to Lee County. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Myers. He was an avid ham radio operator and enjoyed photography.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nancy of Cape Coral; his children, Elaine (Ted) Walker of Hanover, Mass., and George Vouros of Coconut Creek, Fla.; three grandchildren; Sarah, Alexander and Chase; three great-grandchildren; Madison, Olivia and Samuel, one brother, James (Van) Vouros of Cape Coral; step-children; Anita Vouros of Burlington, Mass., and Laurie DeSimone of Cape Coral; four step-grandchildren; John, Christian, Nicholas and Kianna; and two step-great-grandchildren, Liam and Aiden.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christine, and two sisters, Mary Boudouris and Irene Bebis, and his step-daughter, Cynthia DeSimone.
The family received friends for viewing Monday, April 16, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Fuller Metz Funeral Home in Cape Coral. Burial will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Mass.
