The Fort Myers Miracle won in walk-off fashion for the second time this season when Daniel Santana's pinch hit single in the ninth inning Saturday plated Lance Ray to give the Miracle an 8-7 win over the Bradenton Marauders in a wild game at Hammond Stadium.
Trailing 7-3 in the ninth inning, Bradenton rallied for four runs off of Bruce Pugh. The Marauders tied the game with two outs in the ninth when Levi Michael couldn't handle a grounder at short and Alex Dickerson scored to make it 7-7.
Ray started the Miracle rally in the bottom of the ninth with a double to left. After Danny Rams popped out moving Ray to third on Michael Gonzales' ground out, Santana was called off the bench to pinch hit. He batted reliever Zachary Foster to a 2-2 count then punched the game-winning single up the middle to set off a celebration for the home team.
Tony Davis got the win after getting one out in the ninth in relief of Pugh.
The Miracle bashed three home runs on the night. Angel Morales led the way going 4-for-5 with three RBI.
Morales hit a towering two-run homer off of Gerrit Cole in the first inning and Dan Rolhfing followed with a line drive home run to left later in the first to make it 3-0.
Bradenton scored two runs in the fifth against Miracle starter Adrian Salcedo to cut its deficit to 4-3. Evan Chambers' infield single plated Benji Gonzales, and Gift Ngoepe scored when the Miracle failed to turn what would have been an inning-ending double play.
Salcedo pitched five innings and gave up three runs, two earned, for the Miracle. Jose Gonzales pitched two innings of no-hit ball in relief of Salcedo.
The Miracle collected 14 hits. Pinto, Rohlfing and Michael each had two hits.
Four of Fort Myers' five wins this season have been by one run. The Miracle begin a three-game series at Jupiter at 5:05 p.m. Sunday.
