Principal Hagy deserving of honors bestowed

March 31, 2012
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

I just read a re-print of an article that was taken from your newspaper. The article, first paragraph, Mariner Middle School will officially dedicate the gymnasium on Friday to former Principal Richard Lee Hagy, who died unexpectedly last year. The article was in the Saturday March 24, 2012 edition of our county newspaper, The Harlan Daily Enterprise.

Any and all honors that Richard Hagy received were, I'm sure, both deserved and greatly appreciated by his friends and family in both Florida and his home town of Lynch, Kentucky. I knew Richard and his family all my life. He grew up in my hometown and graduated from Lynch High School. Richard was a quite man and his death stunned our community also. Richard was a great athlete in any sport he participated, loved and admired by those that knew him, spoke with his actions, and dedicated to whatever task he undertook. Thanks to your city for honoring Richard Hagy.
