BRENTWOOD, N.H. (AP) — Jurors in the trial of a New Hampshire man accused of beating and burning his girlfriend's son have watched a video of the couple preparing the toddler for a meeting with a state social worker.
The video, shot from under a couch, doesn't clearly show Roland Dow, Jessica Linscott or her then-3-year-old son James, but their voices could be heard. After it was shown Thursday, Linscott testified she and Dow coached James to lie and deny that Dow hit him.
Dow, of Plaistow, faces charges including assault and witness tampering. He's accused of making the video in October 2012, a few weeks before James was hospitalized with a severe brain injury, burns and other injuries. The couple was arrested two weeks later at the Universal Studios theme park in Florida.
