El Rapichurro has announced its grand opening at 1480 N.E. Pine Island Road, Suite 1-E, in Cape Coral. The restaurant and grill is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Houdini's Pizza Magic
Houdini's Pizza Magic opened earlier this year at 1110 Del Prado Blvd., S., in Cape Coral. The pizzeria features pizza, sandwiches and magic shows.
Owned by two well-known local radio personalities, B.J. Odom and Dave Devereaux, who met 30 years ago while working at WINK Radio, Oldies 95, WDCQ. Odom has performed a comedic magic routine in comedy clubs for the past 15 years and Devereaux had worked in his family's pizza business in Ohio before moving to Florida.
The food, including calzones, strombolis, Philly steaks and salads, is all made from scratch with fresh ingredients and, they say, from recipes passed down for generations.
There are three magic shows on Saturdays - at 3:30, 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., and family karaoke Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Fun birthday parties are also available for kids.

Schwinn to discuss evolving

Social media can either be a drain on productivity or a great promotional opportunity for businesses. Either way that it is viewed, social media has made its way into the workplace. as Hodges Accounting "Student of the Year"
LCEC general accounting representative Pamela Eignor has received the Accounting "Student of the Year" Award for 2011 from Hodges University. She was recognized with a commemorative framed certificate and $250 in tuition aid at the Student Recognition Awards Program Jan, 29 at the Hodges University Naples Campus. Eignor utilizes LCEC's tuition reimbursement program to help finance her schooling, and will graduate with a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 2013. She has been employed at LCEC since August 1999.

Junior Achievement hosts Business Development Day
With the goal of preparing high school students for the work force, Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida hosted its annual "Business Development Day" in partnership with the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce. The event was held on Jan. 11 at The Palmetto Pines Country Club in Cape Coral. Twenty-eight high school juniors representing several schools in Cape Coral and North Fort Myers were selected to take part in the Cape Coral Chamber 2012 Junior Leadership program. This is the seventh year that Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida has participated in the "Business Development Day."
Cecilia St. Arnold, program director with Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida and corporate partner Diane Everhart with Northwestern Mutual, provided students with strategies and resources on how to find a job, steps to prepare for employment and an overview of what they need to know about business ethics as they enter the work force. In addition, they teach students how to network and engage with business professionals, then pair each student with a Chamber sponsor.
Following the course, the student and their sponsor attend a Cape Coral Chamber luncheon to practice their skills in a "real-world" setting.
