The Lee County Master Gardener Program is looking for a few good volunteers to help local neighborhoods and communities become nicer places to live. Training includes 70 hours of classroom and field training.
Training classes are scheduled for 14 consecutive weeks each Friday (except for Good Friday) starting Jan. 27, and continuing until May 4.
Classes will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Classes will be held at two training locations: Terry Park and Rutenberg Park in Fort Myers.
Master Gardener trainees are required to participate in volunteer activities after graduation. Classes are taught by Horticulturalist Tom Becker and others. Applications are now being accepted for winter spring class.
