Coleen Marie Lynch, 58, of Naples, Fla., passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, at Avow Hospice after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 5, 1953, in Rockaway Beach, N.Y. She grew up on the beach which she loved and never forgot the sand in her shoes. She was proud of her Irish heritage and visited Ireland several times to reconnect with her Irish family and roots. She had a great laugh and an amazing sense of humor. She could make a joke out of anything. Through her whole life, she devoted herself to her family. If the measure of one's life is not how much you earn, but how much you give away, Coleen had a full life. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived in life by her brothers, John James Travers of Santa Fe, Texas, and Brian Gerard (Kim) Travers of Kingwood, Texas; sister, Tara Anne Travers of Naples, Fla.; niece, Meaghan; and nephews, Connor and Michael, who he lovingly called "Nana."
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 24 years, John Lynch; her parents, John William and Mary Josephine Travers; and her brother, Michael William Travers.
The family received friends for viewing Sunday, Jan. 1, at Fuller Funeral Home, 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions in Coleen's name be sent to the American Cancer Society.
