Alliance Church

Beginning Jan. 4, join friends at 7 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month, in the Cape Alliance family room, to discuss classic and contemporary Christian books. The first book discussed will be Fearfully and Wonderfully Made by Dr. Paul Brand and Phillip Yancey.

Monday evenings at 7 beginning Jan. 9, Women in the Word will continue the study of 1st and 2nd Corinthians.

Each Tuesday morning at 10, Older Adults Knowing the Savior (OAKS) study various Bible books and topics.

Thursday nights at 6:15., the church offers free English lessons to anyone interested. Bring your friends.

Sunday evenings at 6, AWANA and student activities are available to kids age 3 through 5th grade and teens grade 6 to 12.

- Christmas Eve Candlelight Service: Dec. 24, three services - 4, 5:30 and 7 p.m.

Bring the children and experience the sights and sounds of the season. Enjoy singing carols, hearing the Christmas story and candle lighting while singing "Silent Night." Hot apple cider and goodies will be served afterwards. Please bring a canned food item to support the local food pantries.

- New Year's Day: Jan. 1 - 10:45 a.m.

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church

Cape Coral First United Methodist Church's new sermon series is "The Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem." Using historical information, archaeological findings and personal reflections, Adam Hamilton will lead a journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in this fascinating look at the birth of Jesus Christ. The congregation will follow the footsteps of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and others, gaining insight into our own journeys with Christ.

Christmas Eve services are at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 11 p.m. All services are candlelight services and the 5 p.m. service is focused on children.

On Christmas Day there will be a single worship service at 10 a.m. The regular worship service schedule resumes Jan. 1.

Foundations Early Learning Center provides childcare, preschool and afterschool care for children from infants to 8 years old in a new facility as part of the growing family and youth programs at Cape Coral First United Methodist Church. The preschool's website is www.foundationselc.org and has information on programs, curriculum and educational philosophy. It offers small class sizes with an experienced staff and affordable rates. Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church, ELCA, will hold the following Christmas and New Year Worship Services:

- Dec. 24 - German Worship Service: 2 p.m.; Candlelight Eucharist Service: 7 p.m.; and Candlelight Eucharist Service: 11 p.m.

- Dec. 25- Christ-Mass Eucharist Service: 10 a.m.

Cuppa Life, A Life in Christ

The Cuppa Life coffee shop at the Del Prado Mall, home of A Life In Christ, is hosting a public community Christmas Eve worship experience that will include music, prayer, the Christmas story, candlelight celebration and Holy Communion. The service is at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served. A children's story and activity packs provided.

Faith Presbyterian Church

Saturday, Dec. 24, at 5 p.m. - The Present is the Future The Youth of Faith present its annual re-telling of the Christmas story in the way that only youth can. Bring your family to this fun service from Faith's children and youth program.

Saturday, Dec. 24, at 8 and 10 p.m. - Christmas Eve Candlelight Services. The story of Jesus' birth will be presented through Scripture readings and carols. Pastor Timothy Halverson will preach at both services; the 10 p.m. service will include the Lord's Supper.

Sunday, Dec. 25, at 10 a.m. - Join with the congregation as it celebrates Christmas Day with the Chrismon Tree and Carols remembering the story of the birth of Christ. Chrismons are ornaments symbolizing the traditional and ancient symbols of the Christian faith. All are invited to join in this holiday tradition.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church of Cape Coral is offering several community outreach meetings each week. All meetings are open to the public and are held on the First Baptist Church Campus at 4117 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral.

The "Missionary of the Month" is Dr. Sylvia Martinez. She runs the Luke Society Clinic in the Dominican Republic, giving care to the poorest of the poor among the people of the Dominican Republic and to Haitians near the border who work in the sugar cane fields.
