OSTEEN (AP) - Authorities say two people were killed in separate accidents at the same Volusia County location.

A motorcyclist was killed in the first crash south of Osteen about 12:35 a.m. Monday. The Florida Highway Patrol says 48-year-old Carl McDaniel of Macon, Ga., crossed the center line and struck a truck. He was trapped under the vehicle, driven by 50-year-old Otto Puttin.

About six minutes later, 34-year-old James Ledford was either standing or kneeling in the northbound lane of State Road 415 when he was struck by a vehicle that was serving to avoid the crash scene.

FHP says the vehicle that struck Ledford didn't stop.

McDaniel and Ledford were both pronounced dead. Puttin was taken to a hospital.

Anyone with information is urged to call 407-737-2213.
