Searching for fun and affordable child care for the summer break? Cape Coral Parks and Recreation has just what you're looking for.
The Youth Center and Youth Services division will once again be hosting traditional Summer Recreation Camp from June 13-July 29. The Summer Recreation program, which is available for children entering K8th grade (child must be at least 5 years old by 9/1/11) will be offered at four different Cape Coral locations this year, including Christa McAuliffe Elementary School, Challenger Middle School, Four Freedoms Park, and the William Austen Youth Center.
Each site is staffed with highly trained and experienced personnel to care for your children. Camp is only $89 / week and runs Monday-Friday, from 6:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Participants will enjoy two field trips per week, indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, guest speakers and more. Lunch and one snack will be provided daily, with an afternoon snack to be provided from home.
For a unique camp adventure, parents might also consider Skate Camp at Eagle Skate Park. Campers will learn skateboarding tricks, skills and games and enjoy field trips and recreation fun.
The "August Adventures" program, which will run the final week of summer break from Aug. 1-5, will be offered at two locations, the Wm. "Bill" Austen Youth Center and Epiphany Episcopal Church. This program is available for children entering K8th grade; however, early registration is required as space is extremely limited.
The Youth Services Division will also be hosting Friday "Date Nights" on July 1 and August 5 from 6 p.m. to midnight at Oasis Elementary to give parents a chance to enjoy a quiet dinner, or catch a movie without having to worry about who is going to watch their children. The cost is only $15 per child and includes a pizza dinner. This program is offered to all students in grades VPK-9.
