SunTrust Bank donates $5000 to Goodwill Foundation
The Southwest Florida Good-will Foundation has received a $5,000 donation from SunTrust Bank. SunTrust Lee County Vice President Heidi Colgate-Tamblyn and Nick Ayotte presented a ceremonial check to the foundation at Goodwill's North Fort Myers headquarters.
The Southwest Florida Goodwill Foundation works in coordination with Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida. The foundation sets aside funds to ensure the long-term vision of Goodwill's mission of providing programs and services for people with disabilities and other disadvantages in the community.

Walker joins Lee County Port Authority
Elizabeth K. Walker has joined the Lee County Port Authority as director of general services. In her new role, she is responsible for overseeing property-casualty in-surance functions including re-newals, contractual limits, claims management as well as risk management; LCPA procurements that include quotes, bids, proposals and professional services; and serves as the liaison for all items scheduled for board action and all Board of Port Commissioners and Airports Special Management Committee meetings.

Ball named Airport Professional of Year
Robert M. Ball, A.A.E., executive director of the Lee County Port Authority, was named the 2011 Airport Professional of the Year by the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives at the SEC-AAAE Annual Conference in Mobile, Ala. The award, in its 15th year, is presented to an outstanding airport manager and is based on the nominee's professionalism, knowledge and integrity in dealing with airport issues and the community. He is the only airport professional to be awarded this prestigious honor twice.
Ball joined the Port Authority in August 1993 as deputy executive director and was promoted to executive director in 1996. He is accredited by the American Association of Airport Executives. Ball has also served as a past president of the Florida Airports Council as well as a member of its board of directors.
The Southeast Chapter of AAAE is a non-profit professional organization of airport executives responsible for airport planning, management and operations. It is comprised of members from 12 states, plus the Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
