WEST PALM BEACH (AP) - A six-person jury has been selected in the trial of a South Florida woman accused of hiring an undercover police officer to kill her husband.
The four women and two men are expected to hear opening statements in Dalia Dippolito's case on Tuesday afternoon. Two alternate jurors will also hear the case.
Dippolito was charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder after Boynton Beach police had set up an elaborate sting to catch her. They said she offered to pay $1,200 for the hit man to buy a handgun. Police said she also created an alibi for herself and detailed her husband's daily schedule.
The couple was married for six months when she was charged in August 2009.
Dippolito faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted as charged.
