Weather may have contributed to fatal car crash

March 29, 2011
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

POMPANO BEACH (AP) - Authorities believe inclement weather may have caused a woman to lose control of her car, which crossed a concrete median and crashed into a delivery truck heading in the other direction.

It was raining Monday evening when the accident happened. Police say 21-year-old Carol Lashan Brooks died shortly after being taken to a hospital.

Deputies say the truck driver, 58-year-old Alvar Ghisays of Pembroke Pines, attempted to avoid the oncoming car, but was unsuccessful.
