Kathleen M. "Katie" Rippetoe, 90, of Cape Coral, formerly of North Fort Myers for eight years and Spring Hill, Fla., for 15 years, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at Cape Coral Hospital. Mrs. Rippetoe was born in Cookeville, Tenn., and moved to Florida from Detroit. She worked at the Jean Nicole Dress Shoppe in Detroit before retiring from Publix in both Spring Hill and Cape Coral after working 19 years as a food demonstrator. She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in North Fort Myers.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Steven) Herrick of Cape Coral; grandson, Matthew Herrick of Cape Coral; granddaughter, Christen Herrick of Cape Coral; nephew, Tom (Laurie) Camarata of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; great-nephew, Joe Camarata of St. Clair Shores, Mich.; and a sister, Evelyn Priebe of Cape Coral.
A memorial service will be held today, Nov. 23, 2010, at noon at Cape Coral Community Church, 811 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Rippetoe's memory to Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 A.C. Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256, or to the local DAV of your choice.
