A Cape Coral police officer was transported to the hospital Thursday night as a trauma alert patient after he was involved in a traffic crash.
Officer Philip Mullen was injured in a traffic accident at Embers Parkway and Northwest 13th Place that occurred shortly after 8 p.m.
Mullen was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert, officials said
He works in the North District, Platoon 4, and has been with the Cape Coral Police Department since December 2007.
Florida Highway Patrol will conduct the accident investigation.
