Center Benjamin Breault Tuesday became the eighth player to sign with the Florida Everblades for the upcoming 2009-10 ECHL season.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder was selected in the seventh round by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. In four of the past five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Breault, 21, showed he is a proven scorer by averaging at least one point per game.
"I have known guys who played in Florida and guys that have played against them and they all say the same thing ... it is a great place to play hockey," Breault said in a prepared release. " I am thrilled to sign with the Everblades and am looking forward to playing with the great players that have committed to next season's club."
The Everblades begin their 12th season in Southwest Florida in October.
