Christina K. Caprice

Among the graduates at Boston University was Christina Caprice of Cape Coral. She received a bachelor of science in Business Administration and Management Magna Cum Laude.

Kristin DeMarmels

Kristin DeMarmels of Cape Coral, was among the 677 who receive a post-baccalaureate degree at the University of Scranton graduate degree commencement. She received a master of science in Curriculum & Instruction at a ceremony in May.

Mario Lopez

Mario Lopez of Cape Coral, son of Mario Gilberto Lopez and IIeana Concepcion Timossini of Cape Coral, was named to the merit list of Oxford college, for the 2009 spring semester.

Maria Vanegas Juarez

Maria Vanegas Juarez of Key West, Florida, daughter of Jose Barrios and Martha U. Barrios of Cape Coral, was named to the dean's list of Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Fencing Academy class schedule

Classes for beginning fencers will start Tuesday, June 30, 6:30 to 8:30 at the academy's fencing facility at 4210 Fowler St., Fort Myers. Class space is limited so registration is required. The club is open six days a week. The ongoing program provides classes for intermediate and advanced level fencers as well as the beginner.

Edison & Ford Winter Estates

July at the Edison & Ford Winter Estates is highlighted with the return of Henry Ford's Birthday Celebration and Estates Inventor's Summer Camp as well as a variety of other special programs throughout the month of July. The July schedule of programs and events include:

New exhibit opening: "Music, Movies, & Dance with Edison & Ford" July, opening mid-July, films, performances of period music on the Edison piano and other related program activities throughout the year. The exhibit is free with any paid Estates admission and Estates Members are FREE.

The Edison & Ford Winter Estates will be open July 4, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Estates members are free and there are several reciprocal admission programs. Estates Inventor's Summer Camp - Space Still Available

Registration is still open for summer camp at the Estates for a one of a kind experience, discovering, learning, inventing and creating to make learning fun.

All camp sessions will be held in the historic Edison Caretaker's House

(air-conditioned) although some of the activities will be held in the

Estates outdoor program buildings.

LCSO Summer Youth Program

The Lee County Sheriff's Office is offering students ages 11 to 13 a chance to interact with law enforcement in an educational environment. The agency's Summer Youth Program will be held at different Lee County schools in June and July. The sessions run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and are offered at no cost. The upcoming dates and locations are:

June 29 to July 2: Cypress Lake Middle School

July 6 to 9: Lehigh Acres Middle school

July 13 to 16: Three Oaks Middle School

July 20 to 23: Lehigh Acres high School

Edison State College Spanish

This Spanish conversational course will enable students to learn in a fun way. The class will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, July 2 and Aug. 6. Cost is $145. Textbook not included.

Spanish intermediate

This Intermediate Spanish Class is directed towards gaining a competency in the spoken language. This six week class will be held on Tuesday nights beginning June 30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $145. Textbook not included
