TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Three state agency heads in danger of losing their jobs have been confirmed by the Florida Senate.
The Florida Senate has confirmed the heads of the Department of Corrections, the Department of Economic Opportunity and the Department of Health.
Gov. Rick Scott was forced to reappoint all three to new terms after the Senate failed to confirm them in 2013.
The last confirmation came Friday when the Senate confirmed Jesse Panuccio, the executive director of the Department of Economic Opportunity.
Panuccio's agency has come under fire for its handling of a $63 million unemployment benefits system and website launched last October.
Panuccio says the main problems have been fixed.
The two other agency heads confirmed this session were State Surgeon General John Armstrong and Corrections Secretary Michael Crews.
