WIFE OF THEATER SHOOTING VICTIM SAYS HER WORLD SHATTERED
The wife of a man who was shot and killed after an argument over texting at a movie theater says her whole world was shattered. During a news conference in Tampa on Wednesday Nicole Oulson said she's is healing from a gunshot wound and focusing on her 22-month-old daughter.
ZIMMERMAN ATTORNEY TO REPRESENT FIREFIGHTER
The Orlando attorney who successfully defended George Zimmerman after he fatally shot an unarmed teen has been hired to defend a Deltona firefighter accused of rape by a dozen women. A spokesman for Mark O'Mara confirmed Wednesday that he is representing Terry Freeman II. Freeman has been accused by 12 women of rape or attempted rape, and authorities say they've identified a possible 13th victim.
GOV. PLEDGES $130 MILLION TO EVERGLADES
Gov. Rick Scott is pledging $130 million to Everglades restoration in the upcoming budget. He made the announcement on Wednesday during a Florida Cabinet meeting in Kissimmee. Scott says the money will be used to help restore the Kissimmee River north of the Everglades and also help reconstruct a section of the Tamiani Trail so it allows water to flow south into the Everglades.
OFFICIAL: AUTO INSURANCE FIX LOWERING PREMIUMS
Florida's top insurance regulator says a fix to auto insurance laws is driving down premiums. Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty says a preliminary analysis shows a 25 percent decrease in no-fault Personal Injury Protection rates since the law was changed in 2012.
BLACK BEAR KILLED BY CARS IN SW FLA
A black bear was struck and killed by two vehicles on a Hendry County road on Monday night. The bears remains were collected by a sheriff's deputy and a biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on Tuesday.
