MIAMI (AP) — South Florida authorities are searching for three suspects who fled on bicycles after a home invasion that left three people shot.

Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta says the suspects robbed the homeowner in his front yard early Wednesday, then forced him into his backyard where guests were celebrating New Year's.

Zabaleta says one of the guests got into a fight with one suspect, and both fell into a swimming pool. A second suspect began firing at them, striking the guest in the shoulder and his mother in the abdomen and thigh when she tried to confront the shooter. A third guest suffered a gunshot wound to the legs.

The wounded guests were hospitalized in stable condition. Zabaleta says the suspects fled after taking jewelry from the scene.
