WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A former South Florida television weatherman has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for sex charges involving teenagers and computer pornography.
A Palm Beach County judge imposed the sentence Friday on 44-year-old Rob Lopicola, who was convicted of lewd and lascivious battery on a 15-year-old boy and attempted battery on a 17-year-old boy. Lopicola was also convicted of computer pornography and exploitation.
In addition to prison time, Lopicola must register as a sex offender. The Palm Beach Post (http://bit.ly/18DFdcX ) reports that Lopicola resigned from WPTV in West Palm Beach after allegations of inappropriate relationships with minors surfaced. He was arrested in June 2012.
