SEARCH WARRANT: ZIMMERMAN HAD 5 GUNS, AMMO
A search warrant shows that George Zimmerman had five guns and more than 100 rounds of ammunition with him when deputies arrested him earlier this month on domestic violence charges. Zimmerman is free on $9,000 bail and has entered a written plea of not guilty.
SOUTHWEST FLORIDA CONGRESSMAN: TOP PRIORITY IS REHAB
U.S. Congressman Trey Radel, who recently pleaded guilty to cocaine possession, says he's focusing on rehab and will return to work as soon as possible. Republican leaders are calling on him to step down following his cocaine conviction in Washington, D.C.
FEDERAL JUDGE OKS SETTLEMENT IN CASEY ANTHONY CASE
A federal bankruptcy judge has approved a settlement between Casey Anthony and a Texas search group that helped look for her missing 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. Texas Equusearch Mounted Search and Recovery will be allowed to have an unsecured claim of $75,000 in Anthony's bankruptcy case, according to terms of the settlement.
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE IS UP IN FLORIDA
The state's consumer confidence is rebounding after a sharp drop in October. The monthly University of Florida survey released Tuesday found the state's consumer confidence was six points higher than in October, when it fell to its lowest level in nearly two years.
DEA PROBING FLORIDA EX-RACERS OVER DRUG AIRCRAFT
Federal drug agents are investigating a Florida aircraft leasing business operated by two former champion race drivers that is suspected of providing airplanes to South American drug traffickers. Court documents and interviews show that agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and other agencies raided the Fort Lauderdale offices Monday of World Jet Inc., which is controlled by Don and Bill Whittington.
