MIAMI (AP) — Florida Senator Marco Rubio has seemingly spent months trying to convince skeptical Republicans to look at the other issues he's taken up besides comprehensive immigration reform.
The potential presidential candidate joined the drive to defund President Barack Obama's health care law. He then turned to foreign policy matters and social issues such as legislative prayer.
And on Saturday, he will be the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for a group that led the effort to ban gay marriage in Florida.
The actions suggest Rubio is trying to reconnect with key activists.
