2 CHARGED IN DEATHS OF COUPLE IN CONDO

Two South Florida man face first-degree murder charges in the deaths of an 88-year-old man and his 78-year-old wife at their Deerfield Beach condominium. Authorities say one of the men had offered to paint the condo a few days before the slayings. Their bodies were bound and there was blue painter's tape on their bodies.

1 KILLED IN SOUTH FLORIDA INDUSTRIAL EXPLOSION

Authorities say one man is dead and five people are injured following an explosion at a South Florida plastics plant. Miami-Dade police report that a large chemical storage tank exploded Thursday afternoon at American Vinyl Company in Opa-Locka. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded with rescuers and a hazmat team. Fire officials say the explosion was most likely caused by pressure.

4 DEAD IN JACKSONVILLE SHOOTING

Police say two men and two women are dead following a late-night shooting in Jacksonville. Police are looking for the shooter, but released few details.

PANTHERS FIRE COACH

The Florida Panthers have fired Coach Kevin Dineen. The team made the announcement on Friday, one day after their losing streak reached seven games.

POLICE WARN RENTERS ABOUT LEAVING CHECKS IN DROP BOXES

Gainesville police are warning residents to think twice about leaving their rent checks in drop boxes at apartment complexes. They say some 30 checks have been stolen this week in Gainesville.
