HUNDREDS ATTEND FUNERAL FOR CONGRESSMAN YOUNG
During a two-hour long emotional funeral service, Rep. C.W. Bill Young was remembered as a man who loved his family, his country and the men and women who served in the military. Young — the 82-year-old Pinellas County Republican who served in Congress for 22 terms — was laid to rest Thursday. He died last week, surrounded by friends and family, at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Md.
WOMAN GETS 1 YEAR IN 'TOXIC TUSH' CASE
A Florida woman accused of injecting toxic substances into women's buttocks as an enhancement procedure has been sentenced to a year in prison. As part of a deal with Miami-Dade County prosecutors, 32-year-old Ron Oneal Morris pleaded guilty Thursday to illegal practice of healthcare. A judge rejected a previous plea agreement for 180 days, saying that sentence was too light.
1 DEAD IN TRAIN DERAILMENT
A railroad worker is dead after several cars derailed spilling gravel near Sanford. The employee became partially trapped under the rock, which was to be used for construction of a SunRail commuter train station.
MOTHER OF BULLIED GIRL EXPLORING LEGAL OPTIONS
The mother a bullying victim who committed suicide is exploring her legal options. On Thursday attorneys said they haven't ruled out suing the Polk County school system or the parents of two middle school girl's who were arrested in connection of the death of 12-year-old Rebecca Sedwick.
3 STUDENTS INJURED IN SCHOOL BUS CRASH
Three Hardee County students were injured — one critically — when a driver struck them as they boarded a school bus early Thursday. One student was flown to Tampa General Hospital. The driver was cited for failure to stop for a school bus.
