GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — A federal judge has denied bond for a man who pleaded guilty to transporting a stolen vehicle.
James Pearson Watson and another man were indicted in July 2012 on charges related to a truck and various all-terrain vehicles stolen from several states and brought to Jackson County, Miss., in 2011.
Authorities say the vehicles involved in the case were taken in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Pearson pleaded guilty to one count on July 2 related to the truck.
He asked a judge to grant him bond pending his Nov. 7 sentencing.
U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden said in ruling Thursday that he's not convinced that Watson isn't a flight risk or danger to the community.
