EXECUTION OF KILLER SET AT FLORIDA STATE PRISON
A convicted killer who has been on death row for 23 years is scheduled to die by lethal injection at Florida State Prison. The execution of Marshall Lee Gore is scheduled for Tuesday night. Gore was sentenced to death for the March 1988 murder of Robyn Novick, a 30-year-old exotic dancer whose nude body was found dumped in rural Miami-Dade County.
CRIME SCENE TESTIMONY IN FLORIDA FOR BOULIS TRIAL
Crime scene testimony is expected to dominate the first full day of the trial of two men accused of the gangland-style slaying of a prominent South Florida businessman. Prosecutors on Tuesday will begin laying out the evidence against Anthony "Big Tony" Moscatiello and Anthony "Little Tony" Ferrari. They face the death penalty if convicted of arranging the 2001 shooting death of Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis.
DEFENSE ASKS FOR ALLIED VETERANS CASE TO BE TOSSED
Defense attorneys for a Jacksonville lawyer are asking a judge to throw out criminal charges alleging that Kelly Mathis helped build a $300 million gambling operation. Mathis attorneys on Tuesday are asking Judge Kenneth Lester to toss his case, claiming prosecutors have failed to prove the Jacksonville attorney is guilty of any crime.
WOMAN TRICKED INTO MISCARRIAGE SUING PHARMACY
The woman whose boyfriend tricked her into taking an abortion pill is suing the pharmacy involved. Remee Jo Lee lost her baby about six or seven weeks into her pregnancy after she took the drug given to her by John Andrew Welden earlier this year. Welden pleaded guilty to a federal charge of product tampering on Sept. 9.
MAN CHARGED WITH TRYING TO KILL JUDGE
A Jacksonville felon is facing charges after authorities say he tried to assassinate a federal judge in June. The U.S. Attorney's Office released a 25-count indictment Monday that charges 24-year-old Aaron Markus Richardson with attempted murder of a U.S. district judge and possession of a stolen rifle by a felon. He faces a possible life sentence if convicted.
