MIAMI (AP) — The executive editor of El Nuevo Herald says he's leaving for another journalism job in Florida.
Manny Garcia made the announcement on Wednesday. His last day at the Spanish-language newspaper is Oct. 18.
It was not immediately known which company he will be joining next.
Garcia told El Nuevo Herald (http://hrld.us/19GoJeo ) the decision was very difficult for him to make since this "has been the most satisfying experience in my 23 year-career with the Miami Herald Company."
Garcia started with the company as a metro editor and later became senior editor before assuming his current position in 2009.
The newspaper was a finalist for a Pulitzer for its coverage on the Haiti earthquake in 2010.
