2 deputies injured following burglary call

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Two South Florida deputies were hospitalized following a burglary call and high-speed chase.

The Broward Sheriff's Office reports that two deputies confronted 34-year-old Joshua Boyce outside a Pompano Beach home Thursday morning. The deputies tried to detain Boyce, but he reportedly got to his car and drove at the deputies, one of whom was hit and later transported to Broward Health North.

BSO reported closing roads and raising bridges to prevent Boyce's escape. He eventually crashed into a marked BSO cruiser at an intersection on State Road A1A. Boyce and the deputy in that cruiser were also taken to Broward Health North. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

Authorities say Boyce faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder on a law enforcement officer. It wasn't immediately clear if he had an attorney.
