DADE CITY, Fla. (AP) — A Tampa Bay area teen has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting a man during a robbery.

A Pasco County judge handed down 18-year-old Harleme Larry's sentence Thursday. The Tampa Bay Times ( ) reports that he was convicted in June of first-degree murder. Because Larry was a minor when he committed the crime, the judge was able to make him eligible for parole in 25 years.

Authorities say Larry was 14 years old in July 2010 when he approached 31-year-old Agustin Hernandez and three other men in Dade City and demanded money from them. Larry later admitted to police that he shot Hernandez during the robbery.
