LAWYER: GEORGE ZIMMERMAN'S WIFE FILING FOR DIVORCE
George Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, is asking in divorce papers that he pay for a permanent life insurance policy with her named as the beneficiary. She's also seeking an equal distribution of their checking accounts, trusts, partnerships and unknown assets.
POLICE KILL SUSPECT IN SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN TAMPA
A man stormed into several apartments and sexually assaulted several women overnight before he was shot and killed by police who had launched a massive manhunt for him Friday, authorities said. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said 24-year-old Charlie Bates was suspected in the crime spree near the University of South Florida and is suspected in two other home invasions and assaults in Tampa.
THREE BODIES FOUND AT HERNANDO COUNTY HOME
Tampa Bay area officials say a man fatally stabbed his girlfriend, her nine-month old infant son and then himself. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office reported Friday that 28-year-old Jamil Etayem stabbed 23-year-old Roseanna Sanson, and her son, Carter, multiple times.
FISH AND WILDLIFE COMMISSION BANS DEER IMPORTATION
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission passed an immediate ban on the importation of deer from other states and countries on Friday, a move intended to protect Florida deer from a deadly mad cow-like disease. The commission voted unanimously to prohibit deer farms, hunting preserves and others from importing the animals to stop the spread of chronic wasting disease.
FLORIDA SET TO TAKE ON UM AT SUNLIFE STADIUM
Officials are expecting a packed house when the University of Miami is hosts the No. 12 Florida Gators Saturday afternoon at SunLife Stadium in Miami. The teams haven't played each other since 2008, when the Gators won 26-3.
