To the editor: I am responsible for our current water crisis. Over the years, I have developed a personal psychology built around blame and denial....

According to a Tampa Bay Times report, in 2011 Republican Gov. Rick Scott’s administration cut $700 million in water management funding, about 40 percent of the state’s water management district's budget Scott’s administration says water management districts create their own budgets. The budgets are ultimately approved by state leaders like the Florida Senate president, the Florida House speaker and each water management district’s leaders who are appointed by the governor. However, Scott is running in a competitive senate race against Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson. Scott says this algae crisis is the federal government's fault.

But what about local control?????

Dan, are you really the commissioner for DEP? If you are, you would be correct about failing to perform adequately in your job and you should be removed and fined million$ of dollars$.

Studied, intentional ignorance and denial is a sad thing to observe ! ! !

When these operate to negatively affect others, engaging in them is a crime.

We do not and can not expect much more of an elected Politician of any stripe -- but we should and DO expect a great deal more of our fellow citizens ! ! !

Good LTE Dan..except the "Science" lolol..of climate change. Don't get me wrong Dan I DO believe in climate change..after all the weather changes daily. Bet by January it will be colder. That's called seasonal climate change. Although some years are colder than others..sometimes warmer too! That's what I call good old evidence based facts. Dan's right we all are responsible as well as any corporation, farm or politician of any stripe. This river has been poisoned on and off to some degree for the last 20 years I've been here & long before I marches no major fuss 30 year in office Fl. politicians smiling. Fall comes the rains stop, folks lose interest..Now people can see the dead life.. interest is up. This enviro disaster will take years, possibly decades to correct. Only IF we have the combined will to keep the politicians feet to the fire both Democrat/Communist & Republican.

Buck Up, Dan -- I suggest that you should NOT concern yourself TOO awful much about just TRYING to do better.

There are appropriate and effective natural forces in place and acting RIGHT NOW which will inevitably and implacably "SOLVE" the situation FOR you -- indeed, for ALL of us -- in SPITE of your (and our) admitted and highly regretted neglect of the stage upon which you (and we) we all act.

Of course, you may not APPROVE of the PARAMETERS of the said solution. . I certainly do NOT ! ! !
