August 3, 2018

This toxic green algae in our water is making people sick. It's killing the fish and wildlife that call these waterways home....

I was merely pointing out his analysis of the problem is correct.

He gets no credit for a solution. But that is not his job to clean up after Republicans and irresponsible corporate greed either. Managing our local water, air and environment is the responsibility of state government.

Sadly that responsibility is dependent on Republicans that owe their allegiance to corporate donors.

ANTICORP...I'm sorry that you feel that my facts spotlight a particular political party. I was just addressing Senator Nelsons' diatribe. I have no use for his counter part Rubio either. They both disgust me.

I'm no fan of Bill Nelson but he is telling straight about the pollution problem and whose responsibility it is to govern and regulate it.

Face reality or keep whizzing into the wind.

Reyemm, u can make these statements about a Washington political opponent of the Republicans until the cows come home. But who weakened the Clean Water Act? “TRUMP”! And before him who failed to deal with polluters? Who always does? Who stopped the state legislation to clean up the 10s of thousands of septic tanks all over the state about 5yrs ago? It wasn’t Washington Democrats. Who fails to enforce application of lawn fertilizing that washes into the ditches, river and lake (not the purview of the Feds). Who fails to deal with big sugar and agriculture in the state (not federal responsibility)? Who is the political party in control in state and local governments in Florida?

When it gets so bad u can’t stand it u may decide to give up Florida property ownership like I did. Then it ought to dawn on u who runs the state of Florida and who their constituents really are. That won’t be small businesses and the working class. It’s time to wake up.

It is my understanding that LtCol Reynolds is responsible personally for dumping the top layer of lake O without regard for anything and without any prior water treatment. She says she is " JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS."The FDEP allows polluted flows from the north in violation of Federal clean water act with NO pretreatment.

There are so many false statements by Senator Nelson in this diatribe that it is impossible to address them all. The bottom line is this..Federal actions have violated their own CLEAN WATER MANDATES and are the primary cause of the dispersal of algae laden water to the estuaries. It is the Federal Governments' responsibility to FIX THE PROBLEM. So Senator Nelson " get off your backside and DO YOUR JOB, GET TO WORK!!! NOW!!!
