Correct to the question. It should have read "Are there any current councilmembers whom have accepted FREE and/or DISCOUNTED drinks at The Dixie Roadhouse? As the law states "Innocent until proven guilty".

Another question that residents deserve a true answer on is: How many on current council have taken or received free drinks at The Dixie Roadhouse? Would be a nice gesture if, in honor of Sunshine Week, Val could arrange for an investigative reporter to shine some light on theses important questions. Just this past week alone, I have overheard individuals referring to our city as "Cape Corrupt". Forbes Magazine could change our statue in a heartbeat. Our ratings were based on our low cost of living and more importantly, low crime.

RED FLAG to me is the fact that with all the things happening right now in our city and with the downtown street scape project only in it's beginning phase, (set to last 11 more months) there is already major confusion and traffic accidents, as well as the increase in DUI's throughout our entire city. IMHO this DOESN'T appear to be the correct time to even consider the extension of the bar hours. Is this all for the sake of 2 or 3 downtown bars who will not even have to contribute to the tax payers cost of $158,000.00 in overtime for police presence? Couldn't this money be better spent? Something doesn't add up here. To boot, this hasn't come up for vote yet (March 19th), yet it is slated to be in effect on April 1st! I have NEVER seen anything move this quickly through our city council. Sounds like it's already a DONE DEAL & the March 19 council meeting will be nothing but a staged charade. PATHETIC!

"The right to see documents that tell you who is giving money to the candidates seeking your vote." I have 2 questions that need to be answered prior to councils "rush to extend downtown bar hours, effectively taking place on April 1st. How many of our seated council members have accepted donations from any of these 2 bars or in one case, (being they are a LLC) their affiliates? 2nd question: How many of our seated council members are person friends with 1 or more the owners of these establishments or their affiliates? Our elected officials ran on "Transparency", so to clear up any of the rumors that are circulating, I feel they should publicly be requested to answer these 2 legitimate questions, prior to casting their votes on March 19th. Then it should be up to the citizens to decide if any members of council should recluse themselves from said vote.
