Lawmajor, I do not have a clue as to who Dan Sheppard may or may not be backing for our next Mayor.

Lawmajor, To add to your comment to me.... With a wish and a prayer maybe the candidates who have received support from our Mayor will now think twice. Our current Mayor has a lot to contend with and it may not be a good outcome. As far as John Carioscia is concerned I only wish he would not present himself as being so gruff especially when it comes down to his fellow council members and/or residents.

With much thought Sheriff Mike Scott finally made his choice to endorse Joe Coviello for our next Mayor and not Mike Hollow.

Lawmajor, I respect your comment. Choices are sometimes very difficult to make. Each and every candidate in this election race has one person or another as supporters that we may not think highly of. Mike Hollow can not be my choice due to the fact that when one puts up $50K of his own money a doubt as to his motive to seek election concerns me. Also, I do not wish to have a real estate agent/broker as Mayor of our City. These are only my thoughts regarding my decision to vote for Joe Coviello.

Fortherecord - I know personally that there are a lot of constituents that are fearful of voting for Coviello because of his allegiance to our current Mayor. They claim that Coviello is simply too friendly with her and Carioscia.

Best of luck to both. They both have shown sincerity and concern for the city in the many discussions that I have had with them as well as their appearances in meet and greets and forums. This boils down to exposure for the city as an elected mayor. I am still undecided.

CrashDummy - They are paid more than $33K. Published by The Breeze -- QUOTE "the annual salary of $36,600" The above figure does NOT include the $9,000.00 yearly they receive, which can be vested or used for healthcare needs nor does it include their stipends which can be used for travel. YES, it is closer to $50,000.00

Let’s see if I understand this, the Cape Coral founding fathers devastated 144 sq. miles of Florida’s most valued property and they scammed thousands of Yankees to buy a piece of the homemade paradise. The Cape Coral Dream Sellers spent years trying to achieve incorporation and wanted the state to forgive the $8.4B in damages and repair they caused to the FL eco-system. The state and FL Governor Claude R. Kirk Jr. finally agreed to Cape Coral having an elected council, but they must hire an outside professional manager to lead the city. The state forbids Cape Coral having a Mayor. What did I miss?

What we have is an 8th Council member, who represents no one and has absolute no authority. And we pay this person $33K to be someone, they are not. This is an invalid election.

Both choices are dismal. Mark my word with either one of these people nothing will change.

Val,

Maybe you are doing us a favor...Covellio's pic looks like washed up Mafia Don, and Mike's looks like a clean cut business owner, former police officer...still you claim no bias, unlike the rag across the river

Val,

"Better" is a pretty lame answer...If your software can't handle it, then replace your software.

As to the alphabetical issue...boo boo. present them randomly This can be done manually ( remember that!)

I do not think you have a bias toward Covellio, but it sure looks that way.

For our election Q&As, we have traditionally run candidate comments, contributions and related photos in alphabetical order. We will continue to do so in our print editions. We agree, though, that the bio headshots, which place the "first" candidate out front on each index page, isn't an optimum format for Web. Since we can't modify how pictures post to the site, our Production team is working to create two-up photo images, and we will be replacing the existing photos shortly.
