MN2SWFL, the good news is that a joint meeting has been scheduled for February 27, 2017. The bad news is that the Authority was not given the opportunity to schedule a date that worked for all members. They were essentially told this is when it would be held.

The charter schools finances were fine until the current superintendent refused to rehire the mayors friend and city of Cape Coral finance directors spouse. This is bs and everyone should be able to see through this.

If all stakeholders can come together and follow the recommendations outlined in this outstanding editorial, there could be realistic outcomes and solutions based on shared resources, information and input. However, it will require open and equal participation by each attendee, and an opportunity to freely share ideas and recommendations without fear of retribution, consternation or casual dismissal for expressing an opposing viewpoints.

As a concerned Cape Coral resident watching from the sidelines, it is very exciting to believe that this joint meeting may finally come to fruition. May cooler heads prevail.

Excellent points! QUOTE "We suggest that Council pull POLITICS - and emotion - out of the process. It's time to go out of house and we DON'T mean more pricey consultants who too often deliver foregone results. What is needed is UNBIASED, third-party help with definitive expertise." This city has several options. There is NO NEED for them to hire outside consultants!!! Let the City Manager & his staff do the jobs they were hired to do & STOP throwing money away!
