Lawmajor ...the mayor took decisive act. She took the bull by the horns and shown she is a true leader and champion of women who are being abused....SHE MARRIED HER ALEDGED ABUSER. That ought to teach him to mess with our Mayor. Honest to God, you could not make this up. Oh and you think you will have a transparent honest government in Cape Coral you are a real chump.

$700? How many pages? Did they quote you staff time to assemble? They must charge if you, if they will, with the lowest paid qualified employee, per hour. And here is info on FS 119. (a)1. Up to 15 cents per one-sided copy for duplicated copies of not more than 14 inches by 81/2 inches; 2. No more than an additional 5 cents for each two-sided copy; and 3. For all other copies, the actual cost of duplication of the public record. (b) The charge for copies of county maps or aerial photographs supplied by county constitutional officers may also include a reasonable charge for the labor and overhead associated with their duplication. (c) An agency may charge up to $1 per copy for a certified copy of a public record. (d) If the nature or volume of public records requested to be inspected or copied pursuant to this subsection is such as to require extensive use of information technology resources or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance by personnel of the agency involved ...

Fox 4 news is announcing the following: A Cape Coral man aiming at Mayor Marni Sawick says he's trying to get her booted from office. This push comes weeks after Sawicki resolved a domestic dispute involving her ex-boyfriend, a city firefighter. The mayor claimed she was so afraid of her ex she missed a city council meeting because of his threats. Jack Mattachione says the idea of a petition recall has been brewing for a while and the recent domestic dispute made him want to take action sooner. - I look forward to signing this petition. It's past time that we hold our government accountable.

It is the city's way of trying to discourage information requests. They don't want information that may be used in a negative fashion to get out.

Hey Breeze News rag, you are the editors that backed these crooks. The good council and city manager we had you threw under the bus. Go sit in the corner, now that you don't get your way you write about it. Just cannot make you happy.

The City has gotten really bad with public INFORMATION REQUESTS SINCE SZERLAG IS ON THE SCENE!

THEY CANNOT EVEN TELL YOU WHO IS HIRING CONSULTANTS BY DEPARTMENT. EVERYTHING COSTS A FORTUNE THEREBY REDUCING PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUESTS OR EVEN GETTING ANT PUBLIC INFORMATION AT ALL.

It's because they DO NOT want the taxpayers to know. We are not in the "Stone Age". We are in the 21st century, where one should be able to access information rapidly. This should all be computerized with easy access. The real question here is "What are they trying to hind???" At the last council meeting, a citizen stated that when he tried to get "public records" of our mayor's emails (on a city server), he was told some where "CONFIDENTIAL". How's that???
