Clearly the politicization of Syrian refugees was a shameful stain on America by Trump and the Wannabes. We are a nation of such as those trying to seek asylum from that war zone. We have a vast history of such bad behavior after Pearl Harbor and suffered appropriate recriminations. I thought we’d learned after Viet Nam, but as some may remember selfishness and fear and loathing of competition showed its sorry face in the fishing/shrimping industry in Mississippi and Louisiana. We are not that Shining City on a Hill and never were. We’re pretentious, greedy, egocentric and historically laden with omnipresent corruption on the lookout for victims to scapegoat or exploit.
