Just in case anyone believe DOA’s ignorance - Jones Act was waived for Katrina because of infrastructure damage, which restricted the availability of key resources. "A waiver was granted during Katrina due to disruption in the production and transportation of petroleum and/or refined petroleum products in the region during that emergency and the impact this had on national defense." The BP spill didn’t affect infrastructure or oil and gas availability. Foreign vessels were approved for delivering resources and conducting offshore skimming. The Jones Act wasn’t applicable, still the feds took steps to expedite the waiver process if needed. Contrary to reports on "Fox & Friends," assistance was accepted. 25 countries have offered support in the form of skimming vessels, containment and fire boom, technical assistance and response solutions, among others. 23 offers were accepted. One was rejected because the surfactant was not approved.

Poor little Corpy Goebbels gets angry when the whole truth about Dear Leader Obumo is exposed. Not just the half truth, CorpyBoy spin. Spin dance change the tune but truth is truth CorpyBoy. Again, Im anti-nuke always have been. Been into real world solar since 1999, not just talking about it like u Corpy. Have you checked ur battery levels for your Fl. solar home this week? What's that u don't have a solar home? Oh, and what brand electric car do u drive? Oh u don't drive an electric car yet? Oh my. And Dear Leader Bumo let the BP spill spew millions and millions of gallons of oil for FIFTY EIGHT DAYS(58) while 3 countries begged to help with the most advanced oil recovery ships in the world? Yet he refused help. Corpy will never get that Bumo doesn't care a plug nickel about green energy or anything else except green money, staying in power, and further destroying the country using blind liberal fools like him. Rave on CorpyBoy and tune up ur banjo. Good luck!

Well, it seems you DID agree with me that Bushes gave us Solyndra. Just like Iraq and Afghanistan and the financial meltdown & this President did the janitorial duties and we're still paying. For him to give Solydra a transfusion made sense. It was a new solar technology that may yet come back, but was victim of China solar dumping. I suspect you can't get your inflexible brain around some coal hard facts and oil & gas fracking facts. Have you any idea how many of them went bankrupt, spilled and abandoned messes that have overwhelmed the Super Funds created for their clean up out of tax payer dollars. We're not talking a few measly million. Hundreds of Billions. You ignorant Righties are always saying increasing wages and taxes get passed through to the market. Does the stink pot industry just eat the 25Billion of the BP spill, for example, or EXXON Valdez or the coal slurry spills in W.Va. Can you find me a disaster on that scale created by a SOLAR SPILL? How about ***ashima

Corpy Goebbels Jr, In the case of Solyndra, yes it came about under Mr Bush but in 2009 the admin. saw it was a joke and was about to pull the plug. After the election Solyndra rec from Bumo 528 Million tax dollars mostly due to the efforts of top Obumo REELECTION BUNDLERS George Kaiser - Steve Westly and Steve Spinner all heavily invested in Solyndra and Bumo's re election campaign...It was not "handed off" to the criminal Obumo at all as it was to be defunded by the Bush admin. Bumo choose to reinvest to payback his reelection backers plain and simple at the tune of 528 Million tax dollars-Now all gone. "it is incumbent on you to offer some details and proof of the supposed errors of my ways" Spin that one Goebbels Jr. Pls take your banjo and sit next to ur brother on that bridge in good ole Tennessee. Are u driving there in ur electric car? Did u have a solar powered home in Fl? No and No?? Get back up on the porch Corpy Boy. Nothing like THE WHOLE TRUTH!

To those of you that disagree with my posts, it is incumbent on you to offer some details and proof of the supposed errors of my ways.

If you don't you just certify you're engaging in faith based political chicanery and exist in a closed world of faux news.

Shrimp, I don't know how the truth of solar managed to get past the flurries of Fox excrement muddling your mind. I suppose we should be thankful for that. If you'd really been attentive, all of the time, Fox and their sooty pals would have propagandized you on that issue as well, as they have about government support for innovative fledgling industries like solar (Solyndra).

In fact Solyndra was a Bush administration project handed off to the President and it had private sector backers from both side of the isle, notably WalMart money (no democrat backer and owner of the largest solar manufacturer in the US – First Solar).

Furthermore government sponsored initiatives have a very high rate of success, much higher than the norm. You’re likely beyond honest reporting but just in case - paste this in your browser and learn a fact or two - Exclusive Timeline: Bush Administration Advanced Solyndra Loan Guarantee for Two Years, Media Blow the Story

I am a big believer in solar and have had 9 panels on my roof since 1999. NO NUKES! We need to do much more in this area esp in Florida as well as getting the criminal Obumo's foot off the neck of responsible energy production in this country. We need a jobs president not a food stamp president trading Obumo phones and our nations security for votes. CorpCrap you should take Jay Carneys job as the professional liar for the most corrupt administration ever in American politics. With your expertise in dishonesty and outrageous lying, u would be perfect for the job!

Excellent LTE No nukes! Accidents, contaminated radioactive waste byproducts poisonous for thousands of years and easy targets for terrorists that are streaming across our borders due to the criminal Obumo's non enforcement of our nations borders putting the whole country in danger. Obumo the "green solar" president. Green as in payback money to political backers in the form of fake solar/green companies that go belly up on the taxpayers dime while the "solar/green" companies presidents (BumoBackers) walk away with millions in payback money. Solyndra-Satcom-Tester-Fisker-Ener-1 As many as 50 are bankrupt or in deep trouble costing the taxpayers billions. The greatest criminal serial lying president to ever hold office in the USA. Lie after lie, scandal after scandal, gov spying-IRS criminal abuse-Benghazi murders-fast and furious-VA disgrace- NO ONE EVER HELD accountable! Just more coverups for Americas national criminal "solar" disgrace, Obumo.

I’m happy to pony up $25k for the maximum allowed per individual homeowner. Where else could I get such a return on investment? That is not all either. The 30% federal tax “credit” (off my tax bill) will come in handy at tax time and there is a Tennessee $1000 refund coming to me as well.

You do the numbers on payback, but it’s about 6-7 years in my case.

I know you’re all thinking that’s socialism. It’s almost the same as the up-front deal FP&L gets for risky and expensive Nuclear power, if they every finish it (google Crystal River Nuclear plant debacle). Mine’s a clean energy boost to the system (no beefing up transmission lines and more plants). My system will produce electricity at a low fixed cost for over 40 years feeding into the grid with less incentive paying me back my initial incentive.

You see, everybody wins, except for FP&L stockholders, CEOs and Republican lobbyists, even rate payers. I get to say goodbye to corrupt Republican rule too.

Thanks for your insightful letter. I have been beating my brains out against these so-called conservatives on this issue who support the Republican Crony Capitalists, who deal our tax dollars away to big energy and others.

I've given up. Let the locals be priced out of house and home by the corporations who are literally privatizing profits and socializing costs and losses. Nuclear energy is the most expensive energy of all and leaves a trail of unimaginable pollution from start to finish.

Here is what I am doing and why:

I just delivered a check for another home in Tennessee (selling out in Fla). TVA’s solar program just approved me for an incentive that pays me back 140% for every kwh I produce for 10 years and 100% of retail (.10/kwh) for the following ten. Btw, government run TVA delivers electricity for 20% (Fla = .12/kwh) less than FP&L locally.
