April 3, 2014

To the editor: It baffles the mind and turns the stomach when past councilmen proclaim to have the answers to issues that they failed to work on during their time on the dai....

Even better question:

Didn't King come on board. Was he even aware about "what happened". No because...he was chasing fuel dumps, while Deile was"hiding" the evidence in his trunk. Two others were running around town to follow the "chicken sandwiches", etc. Really. How does one completely fly over one specific CM and Council so easily...because..."they didn't do it". No, they just voted no and went home.

Another example is the city was to improve its computer software to meld three systems to one with the primary feature of having the ability to plug in figure to develop BUDGETS that was under the city manager Terry Stwart regime. Who was there for 7 years, 11 years ago. Where is the module? Where is the millions we supported that company with? Just like the bio solid equipment money wasted and no where to be found. Except the city gives information to a consultant and it rents it back to the city. Who is on the inside of that company? Who is getting a kickback for its use?

Why was the $478,000 water and sewer assessment that was mailed on a postcard to a property owner who sold the land to Lee County Public Schools never followed up on or collected to date?

The equipment is only a single multimillion dollar fiasco with a litany of thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands and million dollar screw ups.

Can't figure out why a city of 157,000 has to over charge on basic services?

It has been reported day in day out, years in year out. Decade after decade with no oversight from governors on down.

May I ask who was responsible for allowing the fertilizer plant equipment to rust away till it was worth nothing? Was that city workers or did it just happen on its own. How many millions did that cost 10-15 million??. Who in city government was responsible for the 8 million dollars lost to MWH for changes ? Someone signed off or was it just magic? Was that a city worker or maybe one of the evil past council persons. I always here from the present council, oh we don't want to go back, we just have to move forward. I guess that applies unless you work for the city or the present council. Can't have it both ways. Easy for some to support larger taxes when they go into their pockets.

Thank you, but watch out. He and his puppets are looking to put their hands in our pockets for "their expenses". Guess they just figured out they really believed they would not have to pay.
