Sullivan works with the people

October 25, 2013

To the editor: I have a good chuckle every time I read a letter to the editor from Dolores Bertolini lambasting our current Mayor, John Sullivan, and telling readers to vote for Marni Sawicki....

Lynn Rosko I am pretty sure that is how the homeowner not working for the city or reliant on a city contract will vote. SULLIVAN, HEAD, CHULAKAS-LEETZ, WILLIAMS.

Rescind the 7% Utility Tax. Drop 38% being pulled out of general fund and DROP the FIRE ASSESSMENT TAX.

Shift money from bloated departments to make up the false deficit.

BRING BALANCES FORWARD FROM THE PRIOR YEAR NOT SPENT TO REFLECT TRUE BUDGET NEEDS.

The $100 million being held is to satisfy a 1 BILLION dollar debt position. REDUCE THE DEBT FREE UP MUCH OF THE $100 MILLION. It is only there to satisfy the BONDS OUTSTANDING!

TIME TO OPERATE THE CITY ON THE 157,000 people who pay taxes not on some future that may not arrive for 100 years plus.

sandy1 wrong once again. I can't be Gary King because I am someone else. Besides I have never been a City Manager or worked for a municipality. However I am pretty fair at reading people, working with budgets (planning them, working with them and making them produce the desired results)and solving problems is an added value. I will humbly state that to you.

The only way to respond to Lightswitch is desperate times calls for desperate rants!

Hey sweet cheeks. Everyone loves you too. You are really hurting. Your rants and lovely descriptions of people would make a psychiatrist rich. Glad to see how much you are hurting.

Mrs. Betolini is nothing more than an over done piece of macaroni. I'd rather refer to her as long past over done Tortilini.

Her antics have been most amusing when she was a councilperson and now long after.

She care only for herself which is okay just I will not be a part of her agenda if I can at all avoid it.

She is another who chastised Sullivan and the so called Road Ahead Gang (who was looking at an broke, run by it employee city), for NOT partnering with a FRAUDULENT group to build the AQUA SWIM CENTER. Even after suspicions were raise about 2 dead board of directors, no $10 million amount to give to the city. Her cry"We need jobs and my grandchildren don't have an Olympic size swimming pool. While she is not totally responsible for the 1 billion dollars the city is in debt. She had her hand in much of that debt. Her opinions have been tested and failed big time!

What you cannot seem to grasp is that Sullivan only works for CERTAIN citizens. There are thousands of young couples, children, outdoor enthusiasts, sports teams, that Sullen doesn't work for! Remember:A vote for Sullivan is a vote to shut our Parks and Recreation Department. Once having had to do that, restarting them and getting them back into useful shape would be cost-prohibitive. OH! and one of the reasons you don't see McGrail signs on the "habitation" is because we are smart enough to know they should not be put on the roof!

Sullivan's new palm card shows an octupus picking up what he deems are citizens. Last time it was a flame throwing dinosaur eating citizens. What is his twisted thinking with animals and humans. Does he have nightmares and transforms them into informational cards for campaigning. Weird

I'm sorry Ms. Valenza if you came here to live for free but a civilized community doesn't come without cost. Most people who came here paid much more in taxes where they came from but expect the same thing here for less. Where is your common sense? Di it ever occur to you that there is more to these politicians beyond your little world? You are a good example of a little knowledge being dangerous.

Speaking of signs, there's an interesting Battle of the Signs going on at Burnt Store and Kismet. First it was Mumbles-Leetz-Williams; then Sawicki one-upped them with her sign directly in front of Mumbles. Last night everything was gone except a new Williams sign. I'm lovin' it - actually most interesting thing about this election! Oh, sorry, except for Loony Leetz and his gun comments. Why wasn't he locked up? Sounds like threats to me.

Why are you blaming ANYONE but YOURSELF for not realizing city water was coming your way? Why did you not sue your realtor? “BUYER BEWARE”. “Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law”. Dolores Bertolini has been tirelessly working for this City for decades in one manner/position or another. How DARE you try and drag her into the mud with Sullivan, Leest, Dillie, Bran (of Babe’s fame), Tony Alias, Steve Loveless (of the disavowed Cut Cape Taxes) and others. She is highly revered by this city (except for the 100 people who are RAGs). You have attended one-too-many cocktail events where the self-titled Road Ahead Gang have been bloviating! Thank you for signing with what I assume is your real name—the rest of us could get lucky and watch Mrs. Bertolini sue your RAG-butt for slander!!! Today, the house you paid over $280K for is worth less and you only pay $340 in taxes to Cape Coral. What did you pay in taxes for your house up north? Do yourself a favor--sit down and be quiet!

gUESS YOU DIDN'T NOTICE SULLIVAN'S SIGNS IN FRONT AND BACK OF MCGRAIL'S SIGNS. IN FACT, ON ONE MAJOR THOROFARE, SULLIVAN'S SIGNS TOTALED 14 on three adjoing lots. Loved the orange stickers on them.

I'm just happy that the signs for Sullivan and Leetz removed from public right of ways which is illegal.

"One other thing, why do I see all these Kevin McGrail signs on empty lots and not on one's habitation?" Personally I would rather a good mans' sign on an empty lot than a empty headed mans' sign on an occupied lot.

Did you not realize that the UEP was coming to your neighborhood? Are you so ignorant that you did not research this issue before buying?
