Vote Williams

October 18, 2013

To the editor: I’ve known Rick Williams through our N.W. and S.W. Neighborhood Association meetings. His integrity is without question. He believes in a balanced budget without raising taxes....

Looking at the endorsement of the author it has become crystal clear that Mr. Williams, (if elected), will be a throw back to the Fab 5 days.

A good rule to follow is do the opposite of what Marylin Stout says. She is a RAG in hiding.

I would say at this point that is not so bad compared to what replaced the FAB 5.

They did not need a public relations firm to cover for them.

They told it like it is and showed this city how uncontrolled its accounting practices were next to nonexistent.

They allowed all the people to see where there money was going, how it was being spent, and how much money was being given away with ultrahigh interest rates and bond issues to pay for day to day operations that have gone on for decades. Don't you with we had the almost $34 million dollars in debt service to spend on project instead of a $1 billion debt to probably never see reduced to a palatable level? I'd rather invest ina dictionary than listen and watch 4th grade articulation and performance!

Why would I vote for someone who is supported by some of the previous council members. They disrespected the workers and the citizens. They voted in lock step with each other and 2 of them cost the city in attorney fees. No I will not be voting for anyone with supporters like this man has.

Rick has grown a lot since he began his campaign but since he has aligned himself with Stout,Sullivan,Leetz and the Other No New Growth fellas,he lost out.

I get annoyed that people associate Williams as a RAG. I know him personally and he does support growth. If he was to represent D6, he would have to, as it is falling a part.

I endorsed Williams reluctantly, as I feel Councilman McGrail is doing a great job. However, Williams has a more fiscally conservative stance.

But a RAG? Williams does not dare hold the indecency and uncivilized level of the Fab 5. He is an average guy concerned for his City.

You left out one very important issue about "them". They made accusations, cost us lots of money with their"investigators" and...proved nothing. So, zero for them. Don't continue to try to make them heroes. Not.

Litwiich said, “I'd rather invest ina dictionary than listen and watch 4th grade articulation and performance!” Really? This the classic type of blatant arrogance and insult that the RAGs have been using for over 4 years! Do you want to take the chance that Williams is merely a joke or that he truly is one of the RAG junta? I don’t. We don’t need him, he has No New Ideas for District 6. He is against any new taxes but is promising lighted bus-stops, paved roads, more parks, better services. That cannot be done. Want someone who panders or someone like McGrail with the integrity to tell the truth and take the political lumps for it? For honesty and integrity—Vote for MCGRAIL!

Rick Williams is a nice guy. But the only reason he is running is because RAGs are trying to get out McGrail. Why? They need to start putting like-minded, force-the-city-into-bankruptcy comrades back on the dais. McGrail has fought to get North Cape paved roads, lighted bus stops, fought against replacing the Ceitus Barrier, fought for increased infrastructure in the North Cape and more. What has Williams done? Nothing! But he’s a nice guy who is being used a puppet by RAGs.

Rick Williams is a nice guy but until he says he doesn't associate with the previously defeated councilmen and their partner in lies Stout he is a rag in the public's eyes. Stout is in bed with the Deile's and Crane, no matter how she distorts the facts, she has hers so forget the rest! Rick said no to San Souci because he wanted to keep the "rural" neighborhood but he is mistaken.

FAB5, RAGS, SLICK SIX.....Get over it folks. Everyone of these candidates deserve a better commentary than that! At least they are all facing the storm , when it is all over, let us, as Americans, BE THE WIND AT THEIR BACK.

You need only to see the Williams sign nicely nestled with Sullivan, Headd and Leetz outside of Fosters Grill on Pine Island Road. He's not with them??? Really??

Lolita: "You need only to see the Williams sign nicely nestled with Sullivan, Headd and Leetz outside of Fosters Grill on Pine Island Road. - Are you going to say the same concerning McGrail? His signs are nestled among Sullivan and Leetz signs on Santa Barbara Blvd. south of Veterans Parkway.

Sorry....gotta go with McGrail in District 6. No way I'm voting for someone even remotely connected to the go-nowhere, venom-spewing Fab 5 brethren.

Litwich you are a LIAR. The bonus that was paid this year to city employees was paid out of their Pension Fund and is the equivalent of the amount that they gave back to the city in pension Concessions. Thus there was no detriment to the city, for this year it was even- steven and next year the employees will continue to support the leeches in this city like YOU==but then you KNOW that and insist upon pushing the false statements. SHAME ON YOU!

The prior council of Sullivan, Deile, Brandt, Leetz, Kheun did NOT hire a public relations firm to sell them to the public.

When McGrail, Cariosia, Donnell, Nesta, Erbrick, McClain (who self destructed) took office as a group. One of the first things they did was hire a public relations firm to be able to sell themselves to the public. That took place after the chambers were filled with voters NOT being able to speak out against the firing WITHOUT CAUSE city manager Gary King who uncovered a city with poor to nonexistent accounting practices.
