Kudos to the Code enforcement officers?

October 4, 2013

To the editor: I think that the code people have been getting a bad rap lately and it is time that someone stood to provide a well-deserved “pat on the back!” I can bear firsthand witness to the......

Write on, Brother Nonevernono. I find myself agreeing with your characterization of the Mumbling Moron who "runs" the city, the mano a mano antics and exchange of obscene gestures of two Stumblin Bumblin council members, every single council vote stuck at 6-2. Please look at the slate and tell me you see anything better. Please.

The complaint is about the jerks the city hires and the arbitrary and capricious enforcement of the codes. The problem is this city and the morons that run it.

Neah Neah all you want. in the last 1 1/2 weeks there have been three leaks. here , One at 228 NE 23rd PL. One at 328 NE 21st Ave. One at 2318 NE 5th Ter. And so it goes on the whole years. Even the city crews that go around and fix the leaks complain about the lousy water system.

You can't have it both ways, folks. You complain when the Code folks do their jobs; you complain when they don't . . .

Let me clear up what the situation is. 1. I am NOT on city reclaimed water. I never had it installed with the sewer system 2. I am on a well only for my sprinkler system I have had the city system installed for house water /sewer in 2002-2003. I know of only one other person in my neighborhood who kept their well for sprinkling. 3.I do not seek additional watering times.. 4I do not seek to change watering days.. 5I am merely asking that my 4 hours for watering start at midnight to run to 4 a.m. instead of from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. 6. Because I am on my own well I do not in any fashion affect the water pressure for the reclaimed system. I merely want a small shift in the start time. Nothing more….nothing else!

nonevernono: #1 I did not resort to name calling as you did. You show your ignorance when you resort to name calling. Now, onto the issue. What water system was being repaired that you refer to.? I doubt it was the irrigation system. I've seen leaks in my neighborhood that never have involved the irrigation system They have all been potable water. PVC dries out and does leak. Do you even know how to distinguish the difference between potable water lines and irrigation lines?

NO DIPPY19 BUT I DO SEE THEM REPAIRING THE LEAKS. This year in our neighborhood an area 4 X 5 blocks there have been at least 15 leaks and its only Oct 4th. every years they have between 10 and 20 leaks in just this area. The water system is Crap.

Really thought Dr.K. would use better common sense on this. When the dry season comes, hope we would have been able to store enough so we don't have to drain the canals. Enforcement is enforcement. Dr. K. is a very intelligent man.

nonevernono: Do you have x-ray vision that can look through the ground and see leaking pipes? If you know of leaking pipes, do you report them for repair? The ones watering illegally deserve what they get. I include myself in that if I violate the code.

When a snowbird neighbor had a problem which would have required a notice, the code enforcement officer went out of her way to try to contact them. The individuals who were watering were lazy or unthinking home owners who should know when to adjust their sprinklers. Right on code enforcement.

Get a life PDH. This is what is wrong with this city, they are out chasing people that water their lawn instead of making an effort to fix the water lines. The problem is not people watering but the wasted water do to a totally screwed up system that leaks like a sieve. But code nazis are writing tickets. It is just an other example of how truly screwed up the city of cape coral is, as the saying goes "the put the fun in dysfunctional" Cronyism, arbitrary and capricious enforcing of the codes is the problem and the lead culprit is Frank Cassidy. The behavior of the code enforcement department is in one word despicable.
