To the editor: I have known Richard Leon since 2011. I started going to City Council meetings and he was always there. We talked and became close....

So Eileyn you neglected to LIST all the venues and entertainment for youth and adults here in Cape Coral.

PS you did insult the folks here who show their artistic capabilities at the the various galleries and exhibits.

A DWEEB you will always be!

Eileyn...remember this is the same "person" who continually predicts doom and gloom and destruction very shortly for this City. What does he really know.....

LOL Lightswitch...your vision of culture and mine clearly differ. Your standards don't meet mine. No offense at all to the fine folks who display their art and creativity in the art league building on Cultural Blvd, but I think they would agree, the building and the amenities is no where near the level it could be. And the Beach? What beach? You mean the sand lot along the Caloosahatchee river? Riiight, that'a beach alright. I DREAM BIG..I see what you think is the status quo, and I see a brighter future. With the right people in the right seats.

Back at you Lightswitch. You have just shown how cultured you are. Or aren't.

Eleyn now I have a very clear insight into you.

You say nothing cultural? Maybe you need a definition of cultural?

Right here in Cape Coral we have theatre a freestanding building on Cultural Park Blvd. where their are performances. I see YOUNG people perform there so I know it is real. We have an art gallery where young to old have had their talents displayed. We have Parks & Recreation programs of all types for all ages. I have 3 children who used those programs along with baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis, football, dance, etc, etc. etc. Not to mention the programs inside the Lee County School system drama (cultural), art (cultural), band (cultural, soccer, baseball, football, basketball, newspaper, year book, etc. etc. etc. Not to mention the beach, fishing, and enjoying their friends and family. Ya know some of these activities haven't changed in in over 100 years in this country. Hopefully you are introducing tour youth to as many of these and the many more that

Yes, we all sure know who and what Leetz is. Not something most of us want to keep in office. Hope the Kennel thing is working out.

Sadly, because there was nothing ,and IS still nothing for our children to 'grow into', mine left home and set their wings on other cities. One's here in Florida, the other out in one of the plains states. And yep, we go East, A lot for things to do.

Those who support Richard Leon surely must be delusional! Ask him a specific question and what you get is a lot of DUH! Gee give me a break I am only 26 years old!

Yes, I agree... Leetz needs a break. Perhaps he can get some long needed rest with time off. Possibly even a nice vacation to Rhode Island.

Don't want to disappoint you Eileyn, but it just won't happen. That's why after 30 years of residing in Cape Coral I made the leap across the bridge. Couldn't bear the thought of my boys growing up and having to head east every time they wanted to do something for fun. 150,000 people and only 1 real golf course, no shopping malls, 1 kinda-sorta theatre, a small handful of good restaurants, etc... You get the point. Come to Ft. Myers. Still in the area, no long waits at the toll booth to drive to work, or go home to Cape Coral, and a hop, skip, and jump to everything you want. Plus my taxes are lower. Significantly. Why spend time fighting, when you can spend time enjoying?

I hear what Sean is saying, I said it too. My kids said it too. There is NOTHING to do in Cape Coral. Go to the beach? Right, no thank you. The Yacht Club beach is disgusting. (Sorry CC Parks and Rec, not your fault the water is gross). If we wanted to do anything, we had to, and still do, go over the bridge. There is nothing cultural or recreational (other than sports) for our kids to partake in. No museums, no culture. I hear Sean, and I hope one day to be more than a bedroom community, or God's waiting room.

Sean what exactly are you looking for to spend your time? I am serious. Boating? Fishing? Restaurants? Bars? Movies? Theater? Art Galleries? Sight Seeing, Baseball? Football? Basketball? Weekend get a ways? Beaches (after the Army Corp of Engineers cleans up its act)? What? Tell us? Maybe we can direct you to a yellow pages, chamber of commerce, to find what your looking for. I sure hope you are not an extension of the "I'm bored club". If it is friends you are looking for try the work place, a club or a church. There is so much to see and do even if it is not out your front door. Seek and you shall receive.

Agreed. It is well past time to get rid of the egotistical, narcissistic, condescending Leetz
