@JulieStevens: If you don't believe in or support yourself, how can you expect others to invest in you? But to tell you the truth, I'm confused by what your point maybe at this juncture. Specifically, what is your point?

Sandy1, I don't have an agenda, nor can I decide which is the lesser of six evils.

But, you asked, so let's look at it this way: Cummings raised a total of $50,162.02, $36,799.02 of which was money loaned to himself (73%). Sullivan raised a total of $27,800, $25,000 of which was a loan to himself (90%). Take it however you want; it's pretty pathetic when only 10% of your campaign contributions come from someone other than Me, Myself and Mumbles.

Dimwit!!! Lets not go Obama socialist now!! We can't just do the RAG thing and expect ALL blue collar skilled workers to work for non skilled rates. In this country you have choices... You can learn a skill or a trade, or go to college to earn more money. If want the persons skills you have to pay them. If you want them for less you gotta make it up to them somewhere, or you do not have them!

Litebulb: Please identify a "ciffe barrista".

Did you know that lawyers make mucho money. Much more than other workers. Did you know that actors and actresses, on the high end, make more money than other workers. We can play this game and there will be no solution. Just go to polls and vote, for SAWICKI, andBURCH.

Well Packer now we know you visit 2 box retail stores. Good for you. Now hit the food service industry.

I am pretty sure police, fire, etc. are making more than those folks.

To try to give you some kind of idea of wages. A ciffe barrista makes about $19,000 a year. Does not get time and a half, or double time, special pay, uniform allowance, Amount of vacation time, as reasonable rates for insurance, as many sick days, or holidays. In other words Packer they are not starving. Ask them if they are starving. Some can't make ends meet but that is because they over spend. We give them a work vehicle which costs them zero. Cost of the vehicle per month, gas/oil/tires/repairs, insurane

Here's some solid numbers you can follow - total money raised so far by the mayoral candidates: Ashby – $17,225; Boyd – $7,690; Carr – $1,460; Cummings – $50,162; Sawicki – $11,497; and Sullivan – $27,800 (before you get too excited $25,000 of that is a loan to himself). Cummings? Over $50 grand? Follow that!

The average working Joe at the city is not over compensated. In my field, long term city employees in compariable titles To my industry are not even remotely close to the salaries earned in the private sector. Judy you are as dumb as Peter. How is that you came to tell yourself that city jobs are not more dangerous than private jobs. Since when is being a police officer safer than working at best buy, or how is selling fire extinguishers at Home Depot more dangerous than fighting a fire?

Judy wake up!! Your words make no sense.

<Sigh> LS, I don't have the energy or inclination to give you a lesson in basic math. I seriously doubt it would do any good. Fortunately, I have confidence in other readers that they understand math and the fault in your logic.

netrtansplant is more than off meds!

The proof of what he states is more than false. In fact it is a Lie because he comes from the same stock he tries to protect from the truth.

One, the city as reported to its bonding agency has 1249 member of staff.

Two, the the fire dept has 250 fire fighters, police 259. This is not counting the Directors, manager, assistant directors, managers, etc. Now begin looking at the wages of the individuals In administration, police, fire on the city's website. You quickly see the figures are well over $35,000 and when scrutinizing closer overtime and special pays exceed the wages netrans[lante would like you to believe exists in the city.

Next the per capita income in Cape Coral is not what he states. The figure from the Internal Revenue shows per household in 2012 was $47,478. That is an average of $23,,739. By the way the city staffs figures are inclusive in those figures. In other words netransplant doesn't know what he is talking about.

If you have been following council meetings that you must know that the outrageous conduct of Mr. Leetz is not confined to Carioscia. He has attacked every member on the dais, except the Mayor, and has regularly denigrated staff and citizens from his lofty position. We do not need this type of conduct from an elected official. Leetz needs to go and he cannot go quickly enough for me.

Everyone had the opportunity to work for any governmental entity. We all had that choice. Why bash employees of any firm, including governments, when they are now in "a better position" than some of us are in. It was a choice, yours and mine. And, please, Please, LEETZ has done well? Where, what have his accomplishments shown us, that he can accuse, falsely, and get away with it, can't hold a job, fudges about being a fireman (never produced any documentation), etc. etc.VOTE THIS PERSON OUT, DONE.

Judy is off her meds. The vast majority of employees earn less than $35,000 even before taxes and family medical and 10% into their pensions. With the median income of Cape households well over $40,000 do you recommend raises? Those guys in the trenches deserve it!
