To the editor: I am excited about what Marni Sawicki can bring to the City of Cape Coral as our next Mayor and that is why I am proud to be supporting her candidacy....

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm/ Seems several love using hmmmmmmmmmmm. Everyone has a right to express an opinion, write letters, support anyone they choose. Guess you only agree if they agree with your choices. Sorry....this is the US of A. free choice, freedom of expression, etc.

MARNI SAWICKI is the best choice. Smart, educated, with new ideas. She is the person to take the seat of Mayor and bring new meaning for those wanting to come to Cape Coral. The "No Era' needs to end now.

Dsharrd: Talk to senior citizens and disabled Veterans about these new taxes, fees or whatever you prefer to call them. You don't need scientific evidence that the majority don't want these taxes. Br Florida statute, a 100% disabled Veteran is exempt from ad valorem taxes. You will get a mil reduction along with these taxes. The Veteran who is disabled and on a fixed income does not get anything. Seniors that only get SS can't afford these taxes. Try living on what they get per month. In closing. Veterans gave time out of their lives to serve our country. Many have become disabled and the state of Florida saw fit to recognize their service. This current council now sees fit to take some of that benefit away from them. That is a crime.

If you want to see who the unions are backing, check out the Treasurer's reports and watch the video of Mayor's race. Please provide me with your scientific data showing that the majority of residents don't want or can't afford the tax diversion plans. As a home owner I am glad that the financial burden for running this city is now being shared by others.

Marni is being bought by the unions. She is in favor of the PST and FSA. Neither of which the majority of residents don't want or can't afford.

From my perspective, and from the things I've seen, read and heard about her, don't think so. Interesting that the president of Local 2424 is writing letters of support for Sawicki. Things that make you say "hmmmmmmm."
